Todays starship comes once again from the Perpetual files and todays addition is a small Cardassian fighter loosely based off of Rick Sternbach’s Gallor class ship. I so loved that design of Rick’s and it was fun to create a smaller ship that paid homage to his DS9 creation
Nice design work John, though its not really standing up and saying “I’m Cardassian!” to me – maybe if it had the familiar colour scheme I’d buy into it more. But nice lines and proportions all the same.
btw, though the Galor will probably always be closely associated with DS9, the design dates to the early 90′s for TNG, though we didn’t see it more than a handful of times on the series.
Rick sure did have a good run though over that short period, the Galor, the Klingon Vorcha, the Enterprise-C… real Trek icons.
Yes I’m sure that with the proper colours, this will look much more cardassian.

IT got a bit of an Axe head look to it, which I like.
I also notice in the rear picture. the middile section looks a bit like the nosie of the Defiant, could that could change once coloured.

Looks like a Cardassian/Kazon combo. If Cryptic are using versions of the doughnut and the Archer, will they be using this and the others too does anyone know?

The second I saw the drawing I said “cool!”, but in retrospect, it’s probably a bit too cool for the Cardies. Most of their designs seem pretty clunky, but then if this is from a few decades in the future, I suppose they might’ve picked up some influence from the Dominion.
I like the design a lot. While I agree that a splash of color could make things a little bit more interesting, I see a lot of potential in this design. This could become a very nice ship to model and make scenes with, as I think it gives a nice counterbalance to all the Romulan and Klingon ships that wander the modelled net…
I like that little ship! The only thing I would have done differently (well, if I could do such great sketches) is give the angular engine pods a somewhat different shape. They looks so Starfleetish, like on the “Insurrection” scout.

Is it not supposed to be an early concept for the Hideki class fighter/shuttle? This was always my favourite cardassian ship, its forawrd section was very similar to the USS Defiant, int the DS9 tech manual they mention this fact speculating that the cardassians obtained classified design information on the defiant, whats the real explanation from a production point of view, was the defiants resemblance a coincidence or intentional (baring in mind the cardassian ship was seen first i believe, possibly in series 2, Quarks ex lover, the cardassian teacher on the run with her students, or as this series 3?)
