Howdy all and welcome to another addition of pinup Friday. Today I would like to introduce you to the ever lovely Katherine McCoy of Apple Valley California. I saw Katherine’s portfolio many years ago and I wrote her a note immediately about setting up a shoot. I quickly found out that Katherine rarely got on her Model mayhem page and my message sat in limbo for a good year or so….. Whenever I would come across her page I would drop another note and finally one day last year She got my message and we were able to set up a shoot… We met at Thompson’s Aviation yard and shot on the East side of the site. I borrowed one of the Pan Am uniforms from the Sony lot and that was our first theme.. Thank goodness for the new TV show about Pan Am which made it possible for us to get a really great 60′s style outfit. It fit Kate like a glove and Mark Thompson moved one of his airline ramps up next to a jet fuselage he had and that made for the backdrop of our shoot. The ramp was a bit higher than the door on the jet so we cheated and shot low angles to help cheat the setups. Katerine really did an awesome job and really captured the era to a “T”. We got a lot of great pix around that jet and I look forward to posting more as they get edited.. Our next theme was the beloved Red dress and again Kate made the theme sing like it we were back in the 60′s. She added a lot of her own magic to the red dress and can’t wait to put up more… For our final theme before subset we concocted a stylized pilot outfit and once she was all ready to go, her appearance transformed from a perfect pin up look, to sultry Soviet cold war spy look. Mark had an old Russian helicopter on the back of his lot and we ran over and took my favorite pictures of the day!!! It was a long wait to work with Katherine but it was well worth it… I love the pictures we took and am so glad to have had the opportunity.. Kate is great and I so hope our schedules will allow for another shoot sometime. When not modeling you’ll find Katherine in college studying food and nutrition and her dream is to land a job as a pastry chef at one of the many Disney resorts.. One of her passions is to help those that have been stricken with cancer, (that’s a subject close to my heart) and she volunteers at the American cancer Society. She is currently training for her second relay for life race and I wish her the best in noble pursuits. Heroes are an occasional subject here on the blog and I would have to say Katherine falls into that category. Thanks for fighting for those that can’t!!!!! For more pix of Kate follow the link below and have a look at some of her early modeling. http://www.modelmayhem.com/800281

Howdy all and happy end of the week,,, It has been a long time since we have had a pinup Friday and for today I have a very special young lady I want to introduce you too and she goes by the name of Jin n Tonic.. Jin is an actress/model from Idaho and now resides in Bakersfield California!!! We met a few months back and did our first shoot on the military vehicles at the Supply Sargent (also in Bakersfield) and had a great time. Jin’s talent for modeling and passion for art of using herself as the medium is without measure. She was fearless at striking wickedly awesome poses on very precarious parts of tanks & trucks and she added a new life to the vintage word pinup. I so love the pix we took and working with Jin is a blast of inspiration,,,,, she jumps right in with ideas and themes to make every set up a lot of fun with fab results from the camera’s POV…. We have more shoots planned as soon as the weather allows and hopefully she’ll give the 60′s red dress ago. I couldn’t wait to get these pictures posted and am so glad to finally get to do so. to see more of Jin’s work follow the link below and if your in need of great model, be sure to give her a call. http://www.modelmayhem.com/2218778
Happy end of the week and welcome to another addition to pinup Friday!!! If your a regular viewer and fan of the red dress series than you’ll remember the lovely Victoria Vertuga from previous posts, Victoria was one of the first models I ever shot with a few years ago and the red dress theme was our second outing. Were in the works for another outing and can’t wait!!! Victoria is a good friend and one fabulous model… She so loves to be in front of the camera and she adds so much to each theme. For the classic Star Trek series Victoria attacked the theme with a seriously sassy, and sultry attitude. She is the best and love how she broke all the traditional rules by added her on twist with boots n pumps, and her choice of props. We shot at the historical Vasquez Rocks and the lighting was overcast with breaks of sunshine making for a perfect day and shoot… So with that all said enjoy the works of Victoria and this Fridays pinup update.
Happy Friday all and it has been quite a while since we had a pin up update.. I was able to squeeze shoots in here n there during the last several busy months so today’s post will be a best of day, featuring pics from a variety of familiar faces and some new models too. I have been quite fortunate to work with some incredibly talented models and I so love getting the opportunity do so.Lots n lots of great pics to see so kick back and enjoy all the images from these fine and talented lady’s
First up is the world famous Miss Kendell Clements, Kendell is no stranger to the blog, and since those first few shots of her were posted here in the SCIFI outfit she has gone on to have her work published in two CD’s, she has about six pics in (Science Fiction’s Finest, part one) CD, a cover pic forthe (Metamorphosis 5 single), and a third one on it’s way. In addition to her take on the classic Star Trek red dress theme, she tackled another lady in red, Number 6 from Ron Moore’s, Battlestar Galactica. I LOVE WORKING WITH KENDELL and she is an artist who paints such a wickedly beautiful canvas using herself as the medium every time. Kendell is has the right stuff and will go far,,, she always brings something new to every theme & shoot, as well as her little Chihuahua Lilly. Lots of fun pics here from a few different shoots.
Miss Emily Rose Harris,
Emily is a new name to the modeling world and she is best known for her rodeo lifestyle of barrel racing and CGA Queen status. Emily has branched out into the world of modeling with a vengeance… Her passion for modeling has no limits and her style is very diverse & unique,,,, she is always fun to shoot with and love all the opportunities we get to work together. Emily also got one of her Trek pic’s into the (Science Fiction’s Finest, part one) CD and Here are a few themes in addition to the red dress series we have done, and I’m sure you’ll agree she has a magic about her work.
Miss Elizabeth Meacham,
Elizabeth is a model from Bishop California and her style is athletic and sporty in nature, and she added a very new spin on the red dress theme. Her sleek n flirty poses are so fun and her bubbly personality translated into every picture!!! Elizabeth has no problem climbing rocks and standing on the edge of cliffs in heels and I so love the way she works the camera,,, Liz also got the last spot in the (Science Fiction’s Finest, part one) CD,, fun times for sure. She has a great talent and can’t wait to back up North to work with her again.
Miss Meagan Moorman,
Meagan and I spent probably a good year trying to set up a shoot and it finally happened a few months ago… Meagan is also a newcomer to the modeling world and well on her way to stardom.. She is a treat to work with and I love her enthusiastic perspective about what she is trying to put across in her images. Her elegant posing style and hypnotic eyes cast a spell with every shot. I was so glad that she was able to attack the red dress theme on our first shoot, and for our next outing she is going to do her take on SUPERGIRL!!! I absolutely can’t wait for this one!!! She is one nice gal with a great outlook on life and she too is from the world of rodeo and barrel racing, A bag horse accident sadly ended her riding ambitions, but with any good cowgirl you get back on after you’ve been thrown and Meagan has done just that with her lovely modeling… I love Meagan’s work and I’m sure you will too!!!
And that’s it for this Friday, Stay tuned for more updates from the lady’s above and look forward to posting more next week, Till then God Bless n have a good one
WOOOOOOOOO-WEEEEEEE,,,, Thanks everyone for entering the “help name Kendell’s character” contest. This was a very fun event and there were so many awesome names submitted. Kendell spent quite a while looking at everything before making the final choice and in the end she combined to names from two different entries to come up with “Astral Avaline”. Which means there are two winners to the contest….. Congratulations go to Joe Overly for his entry of Avaline, and Matt Boardman for coming up with Astral. Well done men and your prizes are in the works…. a major printer malfunction has put a slight delay in the execution of the prints but will be remedied immediately… I’ll be in contact with you about where to mail the major awards… drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org and send me some info and also what you might like to have Kendell write on your pics..
OK thanks again to everyone for entering the contest and for all the brilliant ideas,,,,, “Mrs Suddery” was the runner up so well done Barrie

OK one n all have a great day and enjoy the pics.
OK have to go so there will be a part 4
Hi all, Several months back I posted some pictures of Kendell in the pin up update section and since then we have done quit a few different themed shoots. A month ago the record company BUYSOUNDTRAX called, and asked if I had anything scifi without being Star Trek or Star Wars that they could use in an up n coming scifi compilation movie and TV themed CD they were putting together,,, I said no but I could shoot something…. This happened the just before Comicon so I called Kendell about modeling for the shoot and then the quest for a look & an outfit began.. It was great timing to be able to start looking at the con, the Steam punk look was every where and was the basis for the inspiration. There were vendors for clothes and effects on every corner and a booth called Pendragon Costumes, caught my eye… Many hours were spent there going through all they had with one of the gals who worked their. Her name was Kyriss and man did she know her stuff. The booth was so cool and full of every kind of incredible outfits you could think of. Defiantly a steam punks dream store. After all was said and done I walked away with two leather tops, they were separates but by putting them together on one hanger, Kendell’s look was born. Once home Kendell and I figured out the rest of the outfit, high boots black swimsuit bottoms, a big gun belt and a painted black Star Wars toy gun from Wallmart. We met at the sand dunes in Lake LA for the shoot and when Kendell was all decked out everyone’s jaw dropped!!! WOW she transformed from the dirt bike queen to the goddess of the galaxy!!! She looked so awesome and she really got into the character for the pictures!!! We did two shoots over to days at two different locations and sent the pics off to Mark Banning who was the art director for the CD. He had the entire package done in about two hours and sent over the rough layout and Kendell had about six or seven pics in the CD…. I was so happy for her and what a cool CD it’s going to be too… tons of cool music they are putting on it. After the fact we were looking at the pictures and thought her character needed a name.. We thought it would be fun to do more shoots like a live action comic but we are stuck on what to call her. Neither of us have come up with anything good so far so we thought it would be cool to have a blog contest to help name Kendell’s alter ego. So have a look at the pics and give it your best shot. The winner will receive two signed prints by Kendell and an invite to come along on one of the shoots. OK then have fun n can’t wait to see what you all come up with.
As promised here are more pics from the show!!! be sure to check out pin up model Valerie at the end of the post and stay tuned for part three of the con coverage coming tomorrow!
AHHHHH!! I am finally home! Directly from the con, we spent a week packing for our first big, long drive to Wyoming to get our first load of stuff from CA to our new home. It took a week to drive there and back and then another week to get the truck ready for trip #2. It’s early in the AM and I have an hour to myself, so here is part one to followup the story from this summer’s COMICON!!!! Way too many pics to load in one post so more tomorrow.
Wednesday afternoon my buddy Nelson Broskey flew down from Northern California for what was about our 20th trip to the con. We started the trip off with a stop off at the Chiodo Brothers studios in Burbank and then hit the road for San Diego for the premiere opening on Wednesday night. Traffic was awful like always and took a couple of extra hours to get there; once in town the crowds were everywhere and mood from traveler to line warrior switches into high gear. There is always great anxiety about getting to the right door to get your pass and get in, and if you do it correctly the first time it takes about 45 mins to to go the the process. Once your tag is on, you enter the big doors to the multiple acres of booths and a glittering cornucopia of scifi books, sculptures, posters, soundtracks, games, movies and everything else imaginable. There are movie stars from the past and present, as well as all of your favorite artists doing their thing in the artist alley. The crowd at the door and the main back isle is always thick so a quick jet to the middle isle and over to the far west wall starts the glorious hours of wandering up n down every row searching for all the must have items while making sure you don’t spend all your cash at the first booth you come to, HAAAA! The sad part about opening night is that the floor is only open for a couple of hours, not nearly enough time to do anything but wet your appetite for the next day.
The second best part of the adventure about the con is what restaurant do you want, and do you think you’ll be able to get in… The gas light district is a street of old San Diego architecture and is double sided with bars and food joints to meet every style of meals from around the globe. Nelson and I have discovered the Rockin Baja Cantina which is an awesome place to eat and for some reason we have always gotten right in. MMMMMM a way good place with steak n seafood coming to your table literally in buckets.
Day two is the long day and it does take the whole entire day to walk all the isles. Meanwhile there are panels, screenings, and feature presentations in every side room or hall of the place. That is where the big crowds are, and those lines start anywhere from the day before to somewhere in the middle of the night to see the really big events. I only went to one or two before and it was the closest I have ever been to losing my mind and being put into a strait jacket…WAY to much to handle for my little brain and crowd tolerance so I just stick to the floor, HAAA!
Friday comes as the last day for us and we finish the morning with gliding by our favorite tables one last time just in case we missed anything. The cash is all gone by now and Friday is as close to the weekend as you want to get, for that is when the real crowd comes. It’s getting to be a yearly tradition to end the con adventure with a trip over to the USS Midway and a pin up shoot. This year we worked with a very beautiful young lady named Valerie Neff. We had just met on the model mayhem site a day earlier and set up the shoot the evening before. Nelson and I met Val at the dock and her incredible modeling presence stood out in every casual gesture and stance she took even while simply talking to her. After a quick history we learned that Valerie had come to the states from Peru where she is known as one of the greatest models the country has ever seen; she recently moved to San Diego to try her talents here which only means she will soon conquer our modeling world with her sleek grace and beautifully poetic style. We only shot for a little over an hour, but in that time we shot well over a thousand pictures and went through 4 different costume changes. From my end I have never worked with such a professional, and every picture she posed for turned out incredible. I’m still in awe of her talent and on top of it all she is a very sweet lady with a contagious smile and a love for laughter. I will be writing a much longer post about her soon so today is only a teaser. SO with all that said enjoy the pics and look forward to reading all your comments.
Howdy all and Happy Friday! Thanks for all the great notes and stories on the 25th of Top Gun earlier this week, and to start the weekend off right, you all get a special double Friday pin up update. The below post celebrating the 21st Birthday of miss Kendell Clements, and in this post the introduction to the very Lovely Miss SuzieG. Suzy and I met as fans of each others’ work a few weeks back, and after a few conversations a big shoot was set. While texting a message last week, I spelled Suzie wrong enough that spell check turned her into a Dixie, so now Miss G has a new nickname to go along with her real one, HAAAA! Suzie and her husband are flying out from NJ for a week in San Diego come the end of June, and for a couple of hours she is going to sneak away for a pin up shoot aboard the USS Midway and to finish off the theme, Suzie is going to treat us all to her take in the much requested Star Trek Red Dress series.
Miss G’s background is high fashion, which she does ever so elegantly, and she has dabbled into a pin up with a couple of pics and she has set a very high bar in that arena as well. This is one highly anticipated shoot and can’t wait to work with Suzie at some very cool locations…. Stay tuned for more updates as they come along, and below is a link to follow to check out more of Miss G’s work.
Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
