To all my friends here on the blog, my entire family and I wanted to wish everyone that visits here a very Merry Christmas. This March will be the third year of Eavesdropping with Johnny, and it has been such a pleasure to have met so many new friends and post so many artifacts from the world of Trek and beyond. The last year has been a busy one and there have been few posts, but with the coming of 2012 the blog will be up and running hopefully as regularly as it was in the first years. Lots of stuff to scan n post will be coming, and I’m looking forward to more special StarShip designs named after some of the readers here.

Christmas is a special day in the Eaves home, and we are all so very thankfull for all the friends and family that we have so close to us and for the gift of Gods’s son Jesus who was born on this day. Thank you, Lord, for this and all You do for us. A very special Merry Christmas to all the brave men and woman who serve in the US Army, Marines, Air Force, Navy, and the Coast Guard for your service and sacrifice in keeping us here at home and those abroad safe and free.

The Shepherds Worship the Savior: Out in the fields, an angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds who were tending their flocks of sheep by night. The angel announced that the Savior had been born in the town of David. Suddenly a great host of heavenly beings appeared with the angels and began singing praises to God. As the angelic beings departed, the shepherds decided to travel to Bethlehem and see the Christ-child. There they found Mary, Joseph and the baby, in the stable. After their visit, they began to spread the word about this amazing child and everything the angel had said about Him. They went on their way still praising and glorifying God. But Mary kept quiet, treasuring their words and pondering them in her heart. It must have been beyond her ability to grasp, that sleeping in her arms—the tender child she had just borne—was the Savior of the world.

Today marks the 70th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor and the United States entry into World War II, Let us not forgot those brave men and woman which we lost on that tragic day. As a look back on this day of infamy, The movie “Tora Tora Tora” so wonderfully shows both sides of the attack from each country’s perspective and is a worthy view to best remember the events that happened oh so long ago.

Flying cycle Friday

Howdy all It’s been a few weeks but I’m back for a quick post,, BUSY BUSY SHOW and not a lot of free time to spare!!! So without hesitation here is a a speedy story about the flying police cycle from JJ”s Trek 09. The concept began as a pretty big bike, more of a helicopter size craft and it took a few long passes at the drawing board to get the copter version layed out and approved. As time, story changes, and budget revisions took place the cycle had to scale down drastically to fit the new constraints and thus the flying speed bike came to be. As much fun as would have been to see the big version I have to say this smaller bike really was a very cool departure and one big treat to see on the screen. The size screamed police more so than the previous and it was a good call on all fronts. The bike went through a few design changes and what you see in today’s sketch was the final design. At Comicon 09 the prop was in a corner of the Mattel booth and it was great to finally get some pictures of her. SO with all that said time to get back to work so enjoy today’s post and have a great weekend.

it’s pin up friday with victoria vertuga

Happy end of the week and welcome to another addition to pinup Friday!!! If your a regular viewer and fan of the red dress series than you’ll remember the lovely Victoria Vertuga from previous posts, Victoria was one of the first models I ever shot with a few years ago and the red dress theme was our second outing. Were in the works for another outing and can’t wait!!! Victoria is a good friend and one fabulous model… She so loves to be in front of the camera and she adds so much to each theme. For the classic Star Trek series Victoria attacked the theme with a seriously sassy, and sultry attitude. She is the best and love how she broke all the traditional rules by added her on twist with boots n pumps, and her choice of props. We shot at the historical Vasquez Rocks and the lighting was overcast with breaks of sunshine making for a perfect day and shoot… So with that all said enjoy the works of Victoria and this Fridays pinup update.

the Uss Enterprise B and the PBY Catalina

Today’s sketch is of the final design of the Enterprise B, The B came to be because of budgets reasons on the production and there was just not enough cash available to make a new ship and shooting miniature for Generations so the USS Excelsior model from previous films was called for to be recruited as the B. Story line called for some hull changes so that the Nexus ribbon could whip off a chunk of the ship without destroying the whole ship. This was my first art assignment on Trek and what a fun one to say the least.. I was one huge fan of Bill George’s Excelsior and despite all the changes we were asked to do it was important to maintain the overall design as much as possible. To seek out inspiration the PBY Catalina came to mind with it’s built in boat like belly detail which made for the perfect reference to re translate into the Starship’s new hull lines. As for the big wing top props the same is seen on the top of the saucer with twin impulse engines located on the back of the dish. After Herman Zimmerman and the producers were happy with the design the sketch and some rough plans went to ILM and the reboot was underway headed by famed model maker John Goodson. The end result looked beautiful on film and the folks up in Marin County again made movie magic. Stay tuned for more on the B and lots of art n pics to come.

October the 3rd, 1961 was a landmark day for CBS with a new show airing called the Dick Van Dyke show… The program was in Black and White, and it’s pilot episode did little as far as outstanding new arrival. The show caught on quickly and the new fans of the show followed Dick and Mary for 5 seasons. Created by Carl Reiner and stared Dick Van Dyke

This was a favorite growing up and as a kid it was so cool to watch the show and see Dick Van Dyke star in so many of my favorite Disney Movies as well as in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”, written by Ian (James Bond) Flemming. So many laughs and fun memories… The Dick Van Dyke show has know reached legendary status and is a fan favorite on many of the flashback and vintage Television station. it’s red dress & pinup update friday!!!

Happy Friday all and it has been quite a while since we had a pin up update.. I was able to squeeze shoots in here n there during the last several busy months so today’s post will be a best of day, featuring pics from a variety of familiar faces and some new models too. I have been quite fortunate to work with some incredibly talented models and I so love getting the opportunity do so.Lots n lots of great pics to see so kick back and enjoy all the images from these fine and talented lady’s

First up is the world famous Miss Kendell Clements, Kendell is no stranger to the blog, and since those first few shots of her were posted here in the SCIFI outfit she has gone on to have her work published in two CD’s, she has about six pics in (Science Fiction’s Finest, part one) CD, a cover pic forthe (Metamorphosis 5 single), and a third one on it’s way. In addition to her take on the classic Star Trek red dress theme, she tackled another lady in red, Number 6 from Ron Moore’s, Battlestar Galactica. I LOVE WORKING WITH KENDELL and she is an artist who paints such a wickedly beautiful canvas using herself as the medium every time. Kendell is has the right stuff and will go far,,, she always brings something new to every theme & shoot, as well as her little Chihuahua Lilly. Lots of fun pics here from a few different shoots.

Miss Emily Rose Harris,

Emily is a new name to the modeling world and she is best known for her rodeo lifestyle of barrel racing and CGA Queen status. Emily has branched out into the world of modeling with a vengeance… Her passion for modeling has no limits and her style is very diverse & unique,,,, she is always fun to shoot with and love all the opportunities we get to work together. Emily also got one of her Trek pic’s into the (Science Fiction’s Finest, part one) CD and Here are a few themes in addition to the red dress series we have done, and I’m sure you’ll agree she has a magic about her work.

Miss Elizabeth Meacham,

Elizabeth is a model from Bishop California and her style is athletic and sporty in nature, and she added a very new spin on the red dress theme. Her sleek n flirty poses are so fun and her bubbly personality translated into every picture!!! Elizabeth has no problem climbing rocks and standing on the edge of cliffs in heels and I so love the way she works the camera,,, Liz also got the last spot in the (Science Fiction’s Finest, part one) CD,, fun times for sure. She has a great talent and can’t wait to back up North to work with her again.

Miss Meagan Moorman,

Meagan and I spent probably a good year trying to set up a shoot and it finally happened a few months ago… Meagan is also a newcomer to the modeling world and well on her way to stardom.. She is a treat to work with and I love her enthusiastic perspective about what she is trying to put across in her images. Her elegant posing style and hypnotic eyes cast a spell with every shot. I was so glad that she was able to attack the red dress theme on our first shoot, and for our next outing she is going to do her take on SUPERGIRL!!! I absolutely can’t wait for this one!!! She is one nice gal with a great outlook on life and she too is from the world of rodeo and barrel racing, A bag horse accident sadly ended her riding ambitions, but with any good cowgirl you get back on after you’ve been thrown and Meagan has done just that with her lovely modeling… I love Meagan’s work and I’m sure you will too!!!
