I like to call Easter “Resurrection Day” because I don’t know where the word “Easter” comes from. Thanks for the great photos and reminding us of all those who can’t be home with family because they are defending our freedom. (you missed the brave young women in the pictures)

I second that special thanks to Mr. Gibson…well done!

God bless all here and everywhere eh. And indeed, thanks to our soldiers, may they come home soon and safe.

Man, I’ll never forget that film opening day, went alone the first time and then went back that same evening with my wife. I own all TGSET films. Never forget the first time I saw Captain Pike as Jesus.

While they can be a bit much for me at times Warp 11 has a great song called Beam Me Up to Heaven that I really like at lot.

‘Cause Jesus has a phaser and it’s set on love 🙂

Thanks Deg and I hope they get home safe and soon too. I can’t imaging how much you would miss a son or daughter serving in such hostile territory!!! I sure would be proud of them despite the longing to have them back home and safe. Thanks also for your plethora of knowledge and links, I checked this one out this morning!

I have to de-lurk for this post. I love this site and blog, John, but now you’ve given me double-reason, no, triple-reason to love it. Thank you for your awesome Easter message in support of both our troops and our allies’. And especially thank you (and Mel Gibson) for your Easter message(s). I could not agree more.

Happy Easter to you and your family. Especially to your daughter who is in my thoughts and prayers.

    God Bless!

Just wanted to join in with everyone else and express my appreciation for this post! What a truly significant event this was for mankind. That he, our Savior, would suffer and die for us, is so powerful an act to me.

While Jesus died that we might be saved spritually, my heart is full of gratitude for those men and women of the armed forces who serve to save us from harm here on Earth.

    Happy Easter!

    John,

Thanks so much for the post, in a day when it seems that admitting you are a Christian, especially on a trek-oriented site, sets one up as a target for the outspoken athiests that seem to dominate the fan world. I respect them, but seldom get the same respect in return. Seems to me that being a Trek fan does not automatically mean one must be an agnostic or atheist although some feel that must be the case.

    He Is Risen!

I see this everywhere I go and so far we all have mutual respect for each others different beliefs and points of view. Christianity is personal and you can only show it, by how you treat others. we had a broad mix of beliefs on the show and the art Department, but the one thing we all shared was respect and love for each other, wrapped around common love for Star trek!! The philosophy of Trek is pretty much “it is what we make it” but the hands behind the show are definitely influenced and referenced by many biblical points of view.

I hurriedly posted my comment while coming up on a hard homework deadline, then went on my way. I am so surprised and thrilled to see everyone sharing here!! It’s encouraging to see such positive believers in this blog community. God bless you all. 🙂

I think Jesus would (or perhaps does) like Star Trek. The base teachings IMO, are very much the same. Jesus as a Trekker, I can easily see that. 🙂

While I think it is indeed beautiful to share (as John did and I am doing here), I feel, for myself, faith is ultimately a personal relationship with God (go into your room), and what the truth of learning from said relationship comes down to is, like you said John, how one treats others, whatever their own faith may be. IDIC.

The ethic of reciprocity; Do unto others… wiser words were never spoken IMO.

Being a student for decades of studying His words and teachings in His original Aramaic language, I feel all of Jesus’ teachings are a guiding light, and an example of such a profound spiritual lucidity and wisdom for living that I try to emulate every day. For one, again along with what you said John, His Parable of the Good Samaritan is a lesson I do my best to hold in my heart and follow always.

Thanks for sharin’ John, and all, And may God bless you, yours, and your day,

    PLL,
    deg
