It’s definitely great to hear she’s doing well with the treatment. I know chemo can be rough on adults, I don’t want to think about how it can be with a child. I hope she makes a speedy and full recovery.

Nothing makes you feel more helpless than a sick child, but hopefully she’s turned a corner. Good luck to her and your family, John.

    John,

I just read the post on your daughter Carlene. Our family went through the same situation with our oldest daughter Elizabeth when she was just 13. We thought it was just a lump in her neck (swollen glands)but when the doctor told us he wanted to have a biopsy done I was really concerned. I can still remember the shock we were all in when he told us it WAS Hodgkins lymphoma. After nine months of chemo, losing her beautiful curly hair and many overnights in the hospital she was healed. She is now 23, a college graduate and has started her own photography business (www.whitepearphoto.com).

Prayers from family, church and even many of my sci-fi modeling internet friends were praying for her recovery. God IS good !!!

Carlene and your family will be in our daily prayers for her quick recovery.

    God Bless.

Glad to hear your daughter is doing well. I think most parents out there will agree that our children are our greatest joy, but also our greatest vulnerability in situations like illness.

Include my prayers for continued health amongst those from the great bunch of people who’s comments I’ve read above.

I keep my fingers crossed. Get well soon, Carlene!!

How are things? Have you been able to teach your horses any new gymnastic tricks? I still don’t know how you ever got them into those fancy tutus! I hope I am doing this correctly and that you will get my message. After the summer, are you planning on going back to high school on a full-time basis?
Are your sisters behaving? I didn’t think so. Well, say hi to them anyway. Are you raising any animals for the fair this year? I’ve decided not to enter any this year-actually, I guess I’ve always decided that for over 40 years now.
I hope things are going well for you. I’ve had my ups and downs lately myself. (It has nothing to do with my vitamins, either) Two of my kids graduated high school this year, and a daughter got married a few weeks back. That’s all been good, but in the meantime my mom passed away, and I am still dealing with that.
Keep in touch. Next time I will do my margins correctly. Oh, who cares-I teach math anyway. Take care of yourself.
    Mr. Houser
