Miss Penny Von Luck

It was a huge and very busy weekend!!  Comicon in San Diego took up all of Thursday and Friday, and there will be lots of photos from the Con coming up later.  Yesterday, however, was an awesome day because the long awaited pin up photo shoot with Miss Penny Von Luck finally came to be.  Tony Moore, one of the infamous X-hunters joined us at Century Circle out At Edwards AFB, along with my two daughters, Olivia and Alicia, who worked as camera assistants.  Penny was joined by her sister Jessica, Who was her Wardrobe manager/hair n make up styalist, and we all met at the park early before the heat set in.  Penny arrived in one of her own custom costume creations and looked awesome all decked out with a great vintage doo to boot.  We shot some great images for the next hour or so, and all of them turned out REALLY, REALLY NICE.  Penny made my job so easy, and her style and look came effortlessly.  She’s a pro and has a great gift for capturing the essence of what great pin up photography is and adds her own flare to each pose and gesture she strikes!  I’m looking forward to turning some of these into drawings for nose art, but for now here is one picture from yesterday and a group shot of all of us.  Thanks Penny and look forward to doing more shoots with you soon.  So with that, enjoy the first of many pictures to come.

Yowza! Imagine being the flyboy who gets to come home to that gorgeous woman!

Great photo, John. Are there any more?

Also, I was wondering, do you sell these photo’s to magazines or do you do this simply as a hobby?

Sounds like you had a full and fun weekend! Yea, summertime with your girls…you gotta love that!!

You have such a great eye for the light. Is this pic not altered like the one with Amanda Lee that you pointed out was natural glow? It looks great!

Tony was worried that the General was going to drive by and he was relieved when we got out of there with out any one from the base stopping by!!!!

Thanks and the touch up on this one was on a micro level, mostly cropping and some tiny spot and exposure balancing details was all there was done.

Hey aren’t you on Vacation,,, get out a here you maniac!!!

Vacation? Huh? Where’d ya get that idea, bud?

I think Sean is ’til Thursday (or at least he’s out of town ’til then). I just finished the sound on the ship clips, and we still have to re-do the whole opening as Sammy doesn’t care for the one he had that other guy do.

I find something amusing in the idea of this girl visiting your blog and seeing the next post down with a big Arby’s roast beef picture. 🙂

    Great photo!

Hi John, great shot of Penny.
Nice to see a photo of your lovely daughters Olivia and Alicia too. My two daughters are alot younger, but they like helping out their Dad with my rare moments spent on hobbies.

By the way, Daddy John, i hope you have a decent baseball bat handy for all those horrible hormonal boys who are going to start coming round (if not already) to see your girls.

Great photos John! (Dang homework has kept me away :() Miss Penny really grabs the eye of the camera.

I have 4 younger sisters and I used to tease them that I was going to buy a shotgun and anytime they had a date pick them up, I’d be on the front porch cleaning it. Now that I have a daughter of my own, I might just follow through with that! 😀

    Hi there,

Happened upon your site today while trying to track down the credit for an image I found. Before I get to that, I just want to say how glad I am I found your site. Great stuff! I really like the mix of concept sketches, pin up photos and aircraft of all kinds – this really is a geeks paradise you have created.

Anyway, the image in question is this one: http://bit.ly/cHmruT
It looks a bit like a couple of the models here and your style of photography, but I just can’t figure out if it is for sure. So the question is, is this one of your photos? If so, can you tell me anything about it? If not, any idea where it may have come from?

Thanks for your help in advance, and keep up the great work!
