pin-up update with Jessica Robinson

Here are some prints from this weekend’s pin up shoot with Miss Jess Robinson.  She’s a Texas girl on the road doing shoots across the South West, and I was fortunate to have caught up with her for a fabulous shoot out at Thompson’s Aviation yard in El Mirage California.  You’ve heard the saying, “everything is big in Texas,” well Jessica brought that legend with her to the high desert.  Standing at 5 foot 11, she had one impressive presence, and in heels she was 6 foot+ and elegantly striking.  Crystal Star and her buddy Kristen joined in on the shoot to do hair and make up, and their work shined with brilliance as they created a wild 40’s style-Rockabilly doo with one full head of thick Red hair to work with.  Jess provided some awesome and effortless pin up poses, adding her own unique style for one beautiful and sassy, splashy shoot.  Jess was a real trooper too; she had to climb all over sharp metal aircraft pieces, lay on hot jets baking in the summer sun and strike poses with a smile on her face while balancing precariously on the side of old beat up jet fuselages.  It was a fun time, and we took at least 600 pictures.  Good times and made some new friends, too.  Enjoy.

What a job, you go from designing props and ships for one of the most iconic shows ever filmed, and now you get to take photo’s of gorgeous women! On the bright side, when ever my girlfrend goes past the computer and see’s these pin-ups i just tell her I’m checking out Star Trek stuff, lol

Jess was definatly brave to be climbing over all those aircraft parts in high heels! The 3rd picture is really nice as well with the way the sunlight comes into the aircraft fuselage.

Wow, wow, and more wow! nice find there John. You still up for that Pima Air Museaum shoot? I’ve been meaning to email you with more questions, but I’m transitioning to a new puter and am trying to keep the personal stuff to a minimum on the old machine.

Jess is a redhead! I love redheads, always have, always will. She is a really lovely woman and you’ve photographed her beautifully, John. If I wasn’t envious of you before, what with your long experience working with the Star Trek franchise, then I am officially envious of you now. Taking photos of blondes, brunettes, and redheads, oh my! And those amazing planes as well!

You are a fine photographer, wonderfully capturing the essences of these beautiful women and the flying machines of days gone by. With permission, I’d like to add Jess to the nose art collection for my CGI spaceship, just as I did with Miss Amanda Lee.

It’s hard to find good looking redheads these days, though, so we redhead-lovers should all bow to John for getting atleast one for us to gaze at for the rest of eternity 😉

John, thank you for keeping the fine art of the classic 40’s era pin up alive! You really nail it everytime with the pictures you take. Of course, having some pretty eye catching pin up models helps the cause! 😀

John I have said it before and I’ll say it again. You are one lucky man.

I have to say that I love pic’s 3 and 4. Though 4 is my fav, the pose is great and it goes really well net to that big intake fan.

Can’t wait to see the rest of the shoots you got lined up. 🙂
