Happy Friday to one and all, To end the week here is the lovely Miss Eileen standing next to the A-4,, this is one fun shot and it was almost the last one of the day,,, More of Miss Eileen coming in May!!! Next week there will be lots to come and I’m possibly going to launch a new blog called “Atomic Johnny’s pin up page” Been getting some rough feed back on having the pin up stuff up here so I am polling the readers today to see what the concensus is! Then if I feel the need to do so I’ll add a little separation from the movie stuff and the pin up stuff!!! OK have a great weekend and see ya next week!

That’s an awesome shot. 😀 Eileen really looks at home in the old flight uniform. Is that C-130 in the background the same one you used in the last batch of shots?
She is such a natural!!! Thanks and the plane is the C-97,, just added a shot of it to the post for you to see
Ah, I see. It was hard to tell with just part of the wings, fuselage, tail and two of the turboprops visible. That’s a great composition, it looks like the plane is really there. 😀
Very cool, John.
C-97 CARGO plane in the BG for ya Justine
Oh, stop. Don’t go adding cargo planes just because of lil ol me, but I won’t complain if ya do.
Great shot, dude!
I myself don’t see a need to do two blogs, as this is a John Eaves blog basically, and this is all the stuff you are into, eh, movies, music, pin-ups, etc.
peace | deg
Thanks as always for your candid advice brother!!! I’m setting us up a shoot at the air museum so it will be fun to do one with you all.. I’m going thru the pin up models bios as we speak!!!
Agreed. One blog is more than enough and speaking personally, I don’t mind seeing pin up stuff here and I really like all that you’ve shared with us thus far, John.
Very Nice pic mate.
I agree with deg, there no need for Two blogs. even thing is right here, Trek, Movies, Music and pin ups! What more could some one ask from a Blog. 😉
Thanks Freak!!! I’m checking out the comments on this because I am getting some heavy crap on mixing the two genres here. Thanks for the note and good to be back
Ignore the haters, John. It’s your blog and you can damn well post whatever and whenever you like. I’m just grateful that you’ve taken the time to share with us.
Thank you.
I completely agree. I have always been impressed with all of John’s work and it is all right here.
I think that the aircraft in the background is a B-29 Superfortress.
Eileen looks totally fantastic and she is a great model and the uniform and flight jacket look great on her.
Thanks!!! I polling folks on the two blog issue!! getting some heavy gripes so I’m testing the waters,, I just added more pictures to todays post and one of the C-97 which is the BG aircraft!!! thanks for the note n glad you like the picture of Eileen
Hah! i first saw this post on my Iphone and didn’t notice the other pictures, the first thing I thought was ‘this image looks moer photoshopped than usual’, I think its the relection on the canopy that stands out a little, its quite sharp where the seats headrest is, then its just fades out and becoems more defused, maybe add a slightly transparent object where the reflection should be with slowly fases to full transparency to get the crisp line of the reflection back?
As for the 2 blogs idea, just keep it as one. I have similar issues with my blog as well, it was meant to be a generic blog for me to post all my artwork, but its become more of a Star Trek blog now, upto the point that it feels wierd when I post something that isn’t Trek related! Eitherway, this is a blog, not a website, so you don’t have to post about just one subject, no matter what some people may say you ‘have’ to do on your own blog! People should just be happy you even post your work at all here and not get so up i na tuff when something they arn’t interested in is posted!
I’ll admit my missus has walked past a few times when I’ve been on the blog with a raised eyebrow when there was a pinup article on the screen, I told her it was the blog of the guy that designed the Enterprise-E to the responce ‘Yeah right’, lol
Hey thanks for all the notes!!! I went back and took a look at that picture and the PS was a bit heavy across the glass and almost halo-ed the jets surface as well,,, Great eyes man,, I went back and majorly thinned out the glow n airbrush and just posted the new and improved where the old one used to be!!! I was in a hurry and I neglected that extra 1/2 hour of finessing time!!! HAAAA Yeah I’m going to keep the one blog!!! thanks for all the feed back,,,, Im not very politically correct to begin with but man there are some heavy nasty critiques coming in!! had to test the waters a bit to see if I was going to start an extra page or not
For my two cents, I think the pinup/aviation stuff feels right at home here. I would further argue that even if people are primarily brought to the blog via Trek interest, the number of Trek nerds who seriously have a problem with looking at pinup girls is vanishingly small. Vanishingly.
Something about the cockpit windows on the KC-97 give it so much character. I like it a lot.
Thanks I didn’t see a problem with any of the content here myself… Yeah I love the C-97,,, awesome nose on this big bad baby!
I may be too late to influence your decision but I have to agree this is your blog, I am very appreciative of the pin-ups, the old & nu trek stuff, the general Hollywood behind the scenes stories, and your personal family glimpses you give us. Honestly, I feel like when I come here I am catching up with my friend who I don’t get to hang out with enough. I say don’t change a thing, except give us more.
Terry
If you were doing Sport Illustrated style pinups, I might think differently, but the stuff you’re doing is tasteful and in the spirit of the rest of the blog. Keep doing what you’re doing and I’ll be happy, but if you do decide to split them, be sure to leave us a trail of bread crumbs to the new site, okay?
Dear Mr. Eaves,
I have to admit I raised a well-manicured eyebrow the first time I saw the pin-up pictures, but I agree with the other comments. This is your blog and you should put into it what defines you. Besides, you do a very good job of evoking the pin-up style of the 40s and somehow keep your photos both sexy and chaste.
Anyway, I hope you continue your eclectic mix. In fact, I would love to see if you’ve created nose art for a Federation fighter (or am I betraying my ignorance and you’ve already done so in this blog).
Thanks, Jennifer
It’s a little late, but I thought I’d chime in on the pin-up / design issue. Personally, I like reading your thoughts on design, but the pin-ups were enough to get me to stop reading for a while… not really my thing, and I didn’t want those popping up if I was taking a break at the office to read my favorite web sites.
However, it’s your blog obviously, and you can do what you want; since I do want to keep up with your design stuff, I’ve written a thingie to filter out the pin-ups based on the ‘categories’ tag you put on everything. So I really appreciate that you do that, and I just hope you don’t have too many mixed-category posts, because I don’t want to miss out on your design work!
Late to the party on this one, but yeah, keep everything in one blog is my vote. This is a blog about you and the wonderful work that you do. The pin up art is part of that and it showcases your camera skills! Not to mention some serious photoshop skills as well! LOVE the way you changed the background behind the plexi cockpit! Brilliant!
