prometheus, this JUNE

WOOOOO!! Can’t wait for this one!!!! My Friend, Steve Messing, worked on this and on Star Trek; he could tell us nothing about it!!!!!  So here is the new trailer, if you get a chance to see them all, there are about 5 other versions out there, and all of them are a little different.  Speaking of Steve, if you want to be blown away by some incredible artistic talent, go check out his site by following the link below!!!! He’s awesome!!!!

I have been panting over this for months! It looks, well elements in the preview do, like the long lost Dan O’Bannon original screen play segment that was dropped from Alien. Albeit in a more twisted way entirely. Also looks like Ron Cobb’s command deck (which was so awesome) gets realized as well!

Reblogged this on Nicholas Sagan's Progress Report and commented:
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited about this…..

This is the back story that has been missing since ’79! So glad Ridley’s back at it AND with STEVE!!!! All their work is incredible. It’s missing the Eaves to make the trifecta, though. 😉

This is actually one of the few movies I’ve been looking forward to this year. I’m glad Ridley Scott came back to do another film set in the Alien universe. I’m also glad it’s a prequel, not a sequel, because Alien 3 and Resurrection were dreadful.

Yeah, but you guys did the best work in Alien 3. The models were fantastic. The writing was terrible.

I can’t wait to see this film, I have not been this exsited about a film in a long long time.
I have to say that I am intrested to see how Ridley will trun Sci-fi on it head as he did with Alien.

Has anyone esle noticed that the trailer has the same sound track as the Alien trailer?

is it really the same music????? how cool

      • March 20, 2012 at 7:25 am

The music is not the same, but that “screaming” sound at the end of the trailer sure is.
The music in the Promtheus Trailer reminds me alot of James Horner score for Aliens.

Good call, it is indeed the same errie “alien scream” sort of noise from the original 1979 trailer.

Not surprisingly, the Prometheus trailer follows a similar structure and timing to the original Alien one too.

It’s a Ridley Scott film; of course it’ll be epic! He doesn’t do stinkers.

    Can’t wait to see it.

BTW, welcome back to the land of blog, John.

Kingdom of Heaven was a stinker. But I still hope this won’t be.

I am! I was only gone for about a week to spend some time with the family and celebrate our wedding anniversary. Thankfully, the family is moving out and will be here for good this Saturday! It’s been a long year living apart!

  11. March 25, 2012 at 5:22 am

This is probably the only movie this year that I’ll definitely, definitely see. There are many others that I’d like to watch but I just know I’ll run out of time for. I’ll make an effort for Prometheus!

Just a heads up, Fry’s has the Alien Anthology on sale for $40 this weekend (at least in California, I can’t speak to the other regions). That’s a great price! I just went a got it, since I’m more of a casual Alien fan, I’ve been waiting for a good price on the Blu-ray boxed set, like this 🙂
