35th anniversarry of star wars nose art

Howdy all and happy 35th to Star Wars.

The big celebration is just a few weeks a way, and Florida is getting ready!!!!  Many years ago my friend Sean (of Acme Animation Archives) and I were talking about coming up with some new Star Wars art for his gallery.  We came up with the idea of creating some fictional nose art for some of the various wing groups and fighters.  The idea was pitched to Lucasfilms, and the word came back that we were good to go with some concepts.  Well 5 years later we are running with the drawings, HAAA!

Here are some ROUGHS that we were hoping to get some feedback on so have a look and let me know what you think…. The first two are for the A-Wing group and the Leia is just an idea.

Thanks.

Rebel Rouser, A-Wing group

Rebellious Behavior, A-Wing group

Lethal Leia, Falcon

John

Yes!! Oh hell yeah, this is one anniversary I’ve gotta celebrate. I’m going to have to watch it. 😀 My only regret is that I only have the “Special Edition” DVDs and not the original film.

For the nose art, I really love the first one and the Leia one. But all three are great. 🙂

Yeah, but it’s $80. I could buy it used from $14, but I have no guarantee it will be in good shape.

All depends on the sellers rating, If it’s high usually there stuff is good,,, I bought the whole series here used and they all worked great!!!

OK, thanks. I’ll check it out. I may just have to splurge on these, even if they do have the “special” editions as well. I want the original movies that I grew up watching.

Yeah that’s all we watch are the 3 original additions. The Empire is pure magic in it’s original version!!!

I saw where someone is or was (depending on if it sold already) selling the 6-disc set with all 3 movies in both original and “special edition” format for $75 + $3 S&H. They have a great seller rating and claim it’s in very good shape. That would be worth it, if I can afford to order it.

i like the 1st one! the 2nd one…what’s with the star trek symbol on it’s side? oh John! u so funny! u make laugh! and the 3rd, that will be the one people will gravitate to…plus it’s very cool..

Heh, I like the kill count on the Leia art! 🙂 Well I like all the kill counts, but a Hutt…awesome!

And yes, Trek snuck into SW art…gotta love it!! If I point it out to my VERY committed SW fan of a boyfriend, I think he will actually appreciate the creativity. I’ve got him watching and enjoying some Trek, which has him rather surprised. 😀 (but that is supposed to be a secret, shh)

YOU’VE GOT A NEW MAN!!!!!! hearts will break across the internet know!! That might explain your absents,, or it could be more my lack of posts, HAAA!!! Anyways so nice to hear from you and so nice you have a SCI FI dude at your side.

Sorry for spamming posts, but I keep thinking of things…lol…. I think the smuggler side of Han Solo, who is an independent “consulting” pilot (heh), would have one of the more alluring poses on his ship.

Could be done with a 40’s style swimsuit, Leia’s slavegirl outfit or something like that. Use a stylish font or design something unique and write “Millenium Falcon” and and maybe even a tag line like “She’s fast enough…” (add the rest of Han’s quote if you like, heh, “…for you old man.” but that’s too much imo 🙂 ) or “Yahoooo!” like he said when he attacked Vader’s fighter…anyway, done rambling ideas now.

I’m loving the concept here and I have to say Rebel Rouser is my favorite, though Leia’s has an interesting pose and set up. Been working on a star wars nose art project myself through commissioning various artists so it’s great to see there are others doing the same 😀 Only got the pinup done so far, currently working on a name, either Red Ryder or Red Rebel, before going on into background designs and kill counts. I can’t wait to see where this work of yours and Sean’s goes.

Great, all of ’em. But I like the 1st one best. The 2nd one has a Trek Delta on its side in the BG. No no, can’t mix the streams!

    Miss ya, buddy-boy!

I like the Leia art…tweaked from the previous nose art or actually the same? it’s the overall look and especially the wording I’m not fond of. I think having another name on the Millenium Falcon art threw me, as opposed to the ship being named that. 🙂

Throw that pick up on the side, though. It makes me smile when I picture her blasting their way into the garbage shute!!

These are all great, my favorite is Rebellious Behavior. And though I’m not as geeky for Star Wars as I am Star Trek, shouldn’t all the signage be in Huttese or something?

I did get a snicker out of the Death Star in the kill count. I suppose I shouldn’t, as it was likely to have had a great many people aboard—but then again, they were EVIL!

I only had ships in the beginning then I thought Hey a couple of A-wings did make it to the reactor chamber, so the death Star would be a glory kill,, And yes they are all evil so don’t feel to badly.

I have always been amazed with your talent, even in high school you made great art, just wish I would have saved some. The second one “Rebellious Behavior, A-Wing group” is the best of the group.
