Only 8 weeks to go!!! Can’t wait can’t wait!!! We never got to read the script, Only our direct supervisors did and they relay to us coded notes on what we were to draw.. so much security and mystery!!! Can’t wait to see how it all comes together.

and how, and HOW!!!!
Oooo your killin’ me here Johnny!!! I can’t wait as well. Die hard OS hardcore fan as I am, I still enjoyed the hell out of the first despite expecting to not like it. It was because, of course, many small things, but I think, one BIG thing. The actors meshed. They “felt” like they genuinely liked each other or whatever was going on, the casting and direction seems to have solidly made them lovable characters that did remind me of the OS type of camaraderie that I feel you have never seen on any Trek show since the OS in 66′. That trumps my overall disappointment in ship design and/or detail (engine room? Obvious. Less obvious to some, but not me, why was the Starfleet pennants on the engines discarded? All Ryan Churches sketches of the Kelvin and such had the nice red pennants. Very odd “slap in the face” to the fans.) However, the story moved and it it moved me emotionally. From the get go. So I really enjoyed it. I really like the actor that plays Pike. He is usually cast in command style roles and he just has that kind of “Presence”. I loved his last words to Kirk in the bar at the beginning. Very powerful especially coming from that actor.
I saw the first ten minutes of “Into Darkness” when someone “leaked it” briefly on the net a ways back. I was hooked within ten seconds. 🙂 I can’t wait!!
OH man i can’t wait either.. I was on props mostly for this one and it is so cool to see so many of them racing across the screen in all of these trailers!!!
Didn’t know you were able to work on the new movie, how cool 🙂 You must be pretty much the only person from the pre-2009 Trek production world to work on both new J.J. movies.
I am looking forward to seeing this movie and I hope it’s as entertaining as it looks! The only real problem I have with the new Star Trek films, is that they just don’t feel like Star Trek. They are exciting, action packed, great special effects, and have a terrific cast! I am not anti-J.J. Abrams and I actually enjoy much of his work! I may be in the minority with this opinion, but I miss the sense of exploration and wonder the original series and even the next generation had. I understand that Paramount is going to make whatever sells movie tickets, and I respect that. I just hope that maybe with J.J. Abrams moving on to Star Wars (a better fit in my opinion), the future of Trek will take a hint from Skyfall; get back to your roots. It’s time to “Go boldly” once again…Trek was about exploring the human condition within the realm of science fiction. 🙂

i want see the movie ,to see if the big E was replaseced or re-gain orbit after the crush ,i eared on youtube there are lot klingons on the movie and i like to understand their link with the bad guy of the movie,i watched all the trailers and i like a lot the first 2 and the music of the trailers ,i hope the score of the 2009 is used as theme or more classical theme like the Goldsmith’s theme or mix ,i tihink is a good movie even if i not seen now ,but when exit on itlay i’ll be in the first line of chair at the cinema
i forgot to tell ,that movie is one the i like to see 3d ,for me i not like 3d becouse after movie i have the eye that givie me little pain, but for that movie , do a exception ,beocuse ,if you worked well , that is great movie ,i want see enterprise fall on my head with 3d’s google , i want move a side when thinking a phaser shot is near to it me ,….
I got to wait bit longer to see this one.

Hi John, I’ve just seen the new trailer and some shots of the new ‘Dreadnought’ class starship that crashes into San Fransisco bay. From what I’ve seen, she looks like an ‘Eaves’ baby to me… Pray tell us a wee bit about it…perhaps even some of the concept sketches you did?
Understanding that you have to be circumspect, how do you compare working on the new Trek with the producers’ constant need to keep everything quiet and the working environment on the old Trek where the fans were very much welcomed “back stage” and treated to an up close look at everything from props to costumes to VFX and FX work?
startrek.com’s officially put a name to that vessel as of today: USS Vengeance. And yeah, this looks like one of Mr. Eaves’ designs, true enough…
