I remember vividly watching Bewitched as a 3 year old tyke in the mining city of Globe, Arizona. My mom liked Bewitched a lot, and for me there wasn’t a lot to see except for Tabatha. She was a little younger than I was, but she was somebody on the show I could relate to and, over time, she became my first childhood crush followed only by Little Debbie and the Sunbeam bread girl. I watched the show every day of it’s 8 year run and was heartbroken to think that I would never see my little buddy Tabatha ever again!!!!!!!! WOOOOOSH 40 some years later I am on My Space and just for the heck of it I did a little search, and there she was, Erin (Tabatha) Murphy. She grew up to be just as cute as I remembered her, and now she is a luxury lifestyle writer, does a lot of work for charity, plays a part in many active causes, she’s a celebrity host on a broad range of programs and she is the mother to six,,, the best part is she married a man named Darren!!! That’s Darren Dunckel not Daren Dochterman! She has a great website, and she is one that is a lot of fun to read about,,, Happy Birthday Erin!!!!

I had a crush on Uncle Arthur.
Wasn’t that Paul lind????
remember when he played superman on the show and they wire rigged him to actually fly around the exterior set!!!
I use to watch this every sunday on Channel 4 when I was a kid.
When I went to colleague for my final two years at school. all my leassons start around midday. At this time Channel 4 would show Bewithced along with Firends and Frazers, in the morning. I would sit there and watch this untill I had to leave.
I had a Crush on Samantha, as some of the female cast of DS9. 😉
Happy Brithday Erin Hope you have a good one. 🙂
Erin looks great, especially after six kids! She is still adorable.
Kind of surprised you didn’t do a post on the 25th anniversary of the movie, Ghostbusters yesterday. You seem to do every other movie anniversary. Oh well, the 20th anniversary of Ghostbusters II is coming up!
I had it planned but the June 8th Anniversary was in the middle of @+$%$%@@@++:” week so I couldn’t get everything together in time!!! I did do one of those anniversary envelopes for it though!
Thanks for the thought! Hey did you know that Arizona has its own Ghostbuster franchise? They get together strictly to raise money for various charities. Really cool group!

Thanks for the birthday wishes!
from your childhood crush
Wholly cow it’s YOU!!! Happy Birthday young lady, and looks like there are a lot of good Birthday wishes coming from all the comments here!!! thanks for stopping by!
Woah I just noticed the women herself commented 🙂 Good times!
I have kind of a love/hate relationship with “Bewitched”… got endless taunting of my name, and countless references to “Derwood” when I was growing up… didn’t matter that Darrin Stevens spelled his name completely differently… ah well.
I was always partial to Jeannie anyway…
You said it and jeannie was and is still the gal!!!
here is a tiny tribute to Barbara!!!
Yes, Jeannie “sprinkles the air with laughter!” Thanks, now I have that song going through my head again!! 😀
Three years old and crushing on girls! I believe that never ended, because your Jeannie crush wasn’t far behind, huh? 😀 I always enjoyed watching Bewitched and liked it when Uncle Arthur was on, but I think of him more as a favorite than a crush…I liked watching him on just about anything through the years, even as the Rat’s voice in Charlotte’s Web!
Well I guess I should admit that the first crush I remember was on Pete Duel in Alias Smith and Jones in 1971 to 1973. Here’s a pic, but I doubt any of you boys will care! 🙂

If you don’t remember that show or never heard of it, it’s a fun comedy western buddy show that had a rare chemistry. I think my true first crush was horses, and that show had plenty of them! It was very popular and had more seasons planned, but tragically Pete Duel died, and the show couldn’t maintain it’s popularity without him. There are multiple fan sites and fan fiction still abounds.
I LOVE “Bewitched.” My crush was always on Liz Montgomery. 😉
What’s crazy to me is that grown-up Tabitha really looks like she would be Elizabeth Montgomery’s daughter. I mean, really.
And, I did not know she was married to a Durwood. 😀
Oh her poor husband has to put up with that probably 60 times a day!!! He’s most likely a big buffed dude and pounds ya in the chops the moment the sound DURRRWWAH leaves your lips!!!
She was just the cutest lil’ gal, eh. 🙂
LLP,
deg
Wow She looks young!
She still looks like Elizabeth Montgomery! 🙂
Yeah talk about a great casting choice, she really could be!
Gotta love Bewitched, I wish TV Land was still a 24-hour classic TV network…
Happy Birthday, Erin! I remember watching episodes of Bewitched during the summer months when school wasn’t in session. What a fun show! Later, we used to watch reruns of it on Nick-at-Nite. Those were good times! It’s always great to find out that people you admired when you were younger grew up to be outstanding individuals!
She looks amazingly good. Happy birthday, Ms. Murphy, and thanks for giving your contemporaries something to watch when “Star Trek” wasn’t on all those years ago.
Does anyone remember the Tabitha TV series that ran in the 1970s. It had several guest appearances from “Bewitched”, but I don’t think it starred Erin Murphy. I’m tempted to say it was Belinda Montgomery, but that might be a “Man From Atlantis” neuron looking for attention.
Yeah I’ve seen most of those when TV Land went through a retro long lost ’70s show phase on Friday nights back in 2003-ish. It was Lisa Hartman who played Tabitha in the show, because in real life Erin Murphy wasn’t old enough to be this new Tabitha that was in her 20s.
