exciting images from the TOS bridge rebuild for “Enterprise”

Here are some lovely images that I took just before the set got busy!!!  The crew was coming in by the time I got up to the permanents to get the aerial shots.  Enjoy and more to come throughout the week!

John your photos are always excellent. This is a little off subject but I was wondering if you had any shots of picards quarters on the Enterprise D, namely the white chairs, they were reused in Nemesis as well, also we are trying to recreate the statue in Worf’s quarters, we have the base statue called Brothers but want to convert it into the 2 klingons fighting.

I love the swirly plastic used in the ceiling light in the second photo. Is that distorted plastic or just the lighting gel?

Also, did you guys use Hubble photos on those overhead monitors?

Wow, look at all those buttons and lights! TOS lives!! I’d like to see more of that helm. Did you run down and have one of the crew snap you in a Captainly pose in the big chair?

Seeing these shots, especially the aerial, makes me appreciate the setup of the NX bridge even more. I like the openness and earlier naval inspiration feel.

Hey John, how many of you guys played out your childhood fantasies in playing around on the set? 😉

Also I’m curious, is that the same set that’s used in New Voyages/Phase II?

Sorry in advance for sharing, but I wet myself on that gorgeous overhead shot. :p

John, it’s plain that you guys had WAY too much fun on that episode. What a terrible shame that we didn’t get to revisit that universe in seasons five, six and seven as Manny Coto had envisioned.

Capt Eaves to the bridge…Capt Eaves to the bridge

Man that must have been so much fun to step onto that bridge.
I thoroughly enjoyed those episodes of Ent (as I did enjoy all of Enterprise) and felt no reboot/re-look necessary – this design stands the test of time for me and conveys functionality and drama. Wish I was one of the studio execs making the calls . . .

    Thanks for posting these.

I love that last overhed shot, looks so much like the one from the series on theb ack of “The World of Star Trek” book. The lighting is great there.

I still believe the new movie bridge could have looked a lot more like the original, with more details, overheads and panels like it did, with more of the original colors and forms, only bigger. Oh, well… maybe the next one, they’ll concede a little and make some changes for our sakes.

Awesome!! Thanks for sharing the photos with us! Do you know how long it took the workers to construct the bridge?

I would’ve been the guy getting yelled at every day – “GET OUT OF THE CHAIR!”

Just how accurate was the rebuild? What was used for reference (photographs, blueprints, footage from TOS..)?
